What is Digital Dentistry?

Digital dentistry is the single term that denotes “all the technologies and devices utilizing various software, integrated and external Hardwares, &/or different computational technologies applied to examine, diagnose, and treat dental patients, more efficiently and at a speed impossible to imagine few years back". This new digital technology has enhanced dental treatment efficiency and accuracy, bringing with it more consistent, predictable & better clinical outcomes.

What are some of the equipment and software used?

Equipment used today are many. Example: Digital Scanner, 3D printing etc.

Even smile designing is done today what is termed digital smile designing.

Where all Digital Dentistry is Used?

It is used in making of browns and bridges, INVISALIGN orthodontic treatment, Customized subperiosteal Implants etc.

What is Intraoral Scanner?

Intra Oral scanner is a device used to capture the image of your teeth and surrounding structures in a fraction of time, more accurately that other methods. For selected cases @ smile maker, we use digital scanner to make your prosthesis. Digital scanner is used in restorative dentistry and Orthodontics. In the image below, you can see Dr Syed Nabeel using the 3Shape Digital scanner to take impression of the upper and lower teeth of the patient.

CAD/CAM dentistry is an important part of the digital dental lab process, allowing dentists to create complex, accurate restorations. Both dental clinic and dental labs use software with CAD/ CAM technology to produce dentures, crowns, bridges, inlays, veneers, aligners, and more from high-strength materials.
