Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to decay or gum/periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

What is a dental implant made of?

Dental implant is normally made of titanium. Newer implants are also made of zirconia.

What is the procedure for placing a dental implant?

After your dentist tells that you are the right candidate for a dental implant local anesthesia is given. After few mins the area becomes numb and does not feel the pain. Then a small drill is used to create a small space in the bone. Once the space is created an implant is inserted. Later the crown portion of the implant is covered by a Crown to give proper aesthetics.
